Outage
Outage is a memory-based puzzle game with a story that aims to entertain and challenge you while improving your memory at the same time.
Journey into the world of the Megawatt family, an electrically themed group of energy beings. After leaving Zap behind to search out new sources of power, an energy disaster strands the other Megawatts in the now deactivated Grid. With the help of a sarcastic robot, Zap must re-power the Grid and rescue his family.

Send a probe to reveal a valid path through each level. Repeat this path with few mistakes and be rewarded. As you progress, you will face new and interesting challenges including multiple paths on the same level, teleportation, disappearing grids, draining energy and more!

On Making Outage
When I began to make Outage, I wanted to do an experiment combining some of the engaging elements of older console games with a casual puzzler. Is there a market for casual games with some soul/depth? So I took a simple concept of a new kind of memory maze and added a story told through cutscenes. For players who prefer a more typical casual experience, all of the story elements are skippable and can even be turned off completely.

Another goal I had for Outage was to avoid some of the compulsion based ideas in mobile games today... there is no real-time recharging of energy or lives and there are no paywalls. Players are encouraged to play at their own pace and failure is viewed as part of the learning experience without much punishment. So playing stays healthy and is purely for enjoyment, not because you will earn something in a loot box every hour.
